Support our Walking Club with Tesco blue tokens
Clwb Cerdded Eryri Walking club is open to anyone living with sight loss.
The club was established in 2007 and gives people living with sight loss the opportunity to regain and retain their independence and tread different paths in the company of new friends and great volunteers.
Our friendly and trained volunteers are available to chat or to offer a helping hand to walkers along the route.
The walkers all live with different sight loss or are blind.
The carefully-chosen monthly walks offer the opportunity to go to places they may have not been in the knowledge that they are safe and in the company of friends.
Transport is the main barrier to participation for most people living with sight loss.
The funds raised through your programme would enable us to continue making a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.
At present, the North Wales Society of the Blind pays around £300-£360 per month or £4,000 a year for transport to take the walkers to and from their destination.
We have a list of around 80 active walking club members who are living with sight loss plus around 50 volunteers.
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life of those living with sight loss in our communities by offering them the opportunity to exercise and be healthy while enjoying the fresh air and wonderful outdoors.
Our walks also beneficial from their social aspects and enhance everybody’s mental wellbeing.
The financial assistance and community visibility provided by this scheme would be invaluable in helping us to continue our work, particularly in areas of social inclusion, welfare, and accessibility.
Thanks for your support.
