50 members of our Walking Club enjoy their Christmas dinner
50 members of the Eryri Walking Club enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner at Bethesda Rugby Club on Wednesday (3.12.25).
The club is run by the North Wales Society of the Blind and organises monthly walks for its members.
The members include blind people or anyone living with sight loss.
The walks offer an opportunity for everybody to get out and enjoy some fresh air, which is beneficial for both physical and mental health. Everyone interacts happily and the conversations are always interesting.
Also joining the walks are partners, friends, and volunteers who have received specialist training by the Society to guide correctly.
Everyone enjoyed the Christmas lunch at the club with one of the volunteers, Ian Jones, entertaining with his singing and guitar.
A raffle with great prizes was held.
Society chief executive Steven Thomas, thanked Mark Roberts, who organises the walks and serves on the Society's management board, and everyone for their support throughout the year and encouraged anyone living with sight loss to join us.
Mark has prepared a list of walks for the Walking Club for the New Year. If anyone would like to know more about our walks, please contact the Society’s engagement officer, Bethan Sage Williams, 01248 353604 admin@nwsb.org.uk
