A second gold medal for para-archer Nick!

A Gwynedd man who is the para-archery world champion has won another gold medal at the British Blind Sports (BBS) indoor championships.

Nick Thomas from Talysarn came out on top in South Korea last September and is delighted to have won the British Blind Sport competition held in Lilleshall, Shropshire last weekend.

Now Nick is preparing for another competition which is the para-European championships in Rome on April 28.

Nick has a condition called Stargardt Macular Dystrophy, and is registered blind. He works as a development officer with the North Wales Society for the Blind in Bangor.

He admits that he had found it difficult to focus for a while recently after the euphoria of South Korea but that winning the BBS has boosted his confidence.

He said: "I felt good and things went well, really well. A gold medal with a British record score!"

He is now crossing his fingers that he will succeed again in Rome and everyone wishes him every success.
