Aber falls walk

After a wet start to our walk  the rain had abated by the time we reached the falls. It didn’t really spoil the walk too much and everyone seemed to have enjoyed. Looking forward to seeing you all next month.

This month we will be walking to one of Snowdonia's most popular destinations Aber Falls.

We have arranged a bus departing from the Society in Bangor at 10.15am.

This is a reasonable easy walk of around 4 miles from the bus stop, slightly shorter if you decide to drive to the car park which is .7 of a mile in distance up the road.

There's a lower and upper car park, both have designated disabled parking, there are public toilets situated in the upper one.

There is a charge of £5 for parking for those not displaying a blue disabled parking badge.

We shall congregate in the upper car park before we start our ascent to the falls, it's a gradual climb which should take no longer than 45 minutes.

Having arrived at the falls we will have plenty of time for a lunch break and a chinwag before we start our leisurely descend back to the village.

Here's some information on what you need to know:

  • Those who have travelled by bus will meet up with others at the upper car park.

  • The walk will take approximately 3 hours starting at 10.45 am.

  • The bus will depart Aber for the return Journey to Bangor at 2.pm

We will postpone the trip in the event of bad weather - If we need to make a decision to cancel, we will let you know by email and text by 8.am on the day of the walk . Responding to this email could you include a mobile number where we can send text messages please.

You will need:

Appropriate clothing including walking boots, waterproofs and a packed lunch
