Articles from Barn magazine now on audio – and for free!
Articles from the current affairs magazine Barn will be available to listen to for the first time on CD and other audio formats - free.
The magazine - founded in 1962 - wants to help blind or sight-loss readers.
Two charities - North Wales Society of the Blind, Bangor and Spoken Books, Caerfyrddin (Carmarthen) will record authors voicing their own articles and send them to the public.
One of Barn's co-editors, Menna Baines, said: “We have recorded a selection of articles from the December–January issue to be provided in audio format and released at the same time as our popular seasonal double issue.
"One of the special features of this initiative is that the authors themselves will read their articles, so you can enjoy the pieces in the author's voice.
"You don't have to have a subscription to Barn to take advantage of the offer - the service is available free of charge to anyone interested.
She said: "We can provide the audio versions on CD by post or as an email attachment - whatever is best for you."
In this edition, Meg Elis evaluates the literature and books of 2025, Elin Llwyd Morgan discusses Christmas adverts, Beca Brown reflects on loneliness and Elinor Wyn Reynolds discusses Christmas TV.
There will also be a special Christmas story voiced by actor Andrew Teilo.
If you, a member of your family or a friend would like to receive the audio version, please contact swyddfa@barn.cymru or call Fabio Lewis, Llyfrau Llafar: 01267 238225
