Bethan offers advice on various useful equipment at Abergele Hospital
Our engagement officer, Bethan Sage Williams, had a warm welcome from Roxanne Anderson the Eye clinic Liaison officer (ECLO), staff and patients at Abergele Hospital eye clinic, yesterday.
She was able to demonstrate every-day equipment to the nurses in the eye clinic that people with sight loss may find useful, such as talking watches, big button telephones, large print address books etc
Bethan said: “A lady who had just been to see her consultant came over to the table and tried the yellow lenses sunglasses. She was amazed how they were able to cut out the glare.
“One of her biggest issues is lighting when she goes shopping.
“She told me: “The lighting in these supermarkets is so strong and it puts me off going so these will make such a difference.”
Bethan said: “I’m looking forward to visiting again next year.”
