Blind Society wins Tesco’s £1,500 competition!
The North Wales Society of the Bind is delighted after our £1,500 grant application came first in a vote by Tesco customers!
Voting took place in Tesco Bangor and Bethesda stores between April 1 and June 30, 2025 with hundreds of customers choosing to donate their blue circular tickets to the Society.
Thank you all very much!
Two other community projects were also competing for the money under the Tesco Stronger Starts scheme.
We will now go about spending the money on organising our monthly walks for the blind and people living with sight loss with our Clwb cerdded Eryri walking club.
The Walking Club was established by the Society in 2007 to give people living with sight loss the opportunity to regain and maintain their independence and walk different paths in the company of new friends and wonderful volunteers.
The walks offer the opportunity to go to different places and in the company of friends.
The North Wales Society of the Blind spends several hundred pounds each month and thousands each year on transport to take the walkers to their destination and home.
