Come and buy your special Christmas cards from the Society

Have you seen the movie Elf? Yes? Then you have a pretty good idea of the hustle and bustle here at the North Wales Society of the Blind office as we approach Christmas.

The office is always busy and welcoming to anyone who drops in on us at 325, High Street, Bangor, Gwynedd.

Besides having a great display of all sorts of equipment for everyone living with sight loss, we also have greeting cards for every type of occasion – including Christmas on sale here.

Our administrator, Rowena Thomas, has been in the process of creating the cards for us which are sold in the charity shop at our centre. And since it's almost Christmas, Rowena has set about creating a number of lovely cards for you to buy. There are those that include Santa, deer and Christmas trees in both Welsh and English.

Rowena said: "I started making the cards when I was working for Antur Waunfawr in the shop in Bryn Pistyll. After starting work for the Society in 2006, I carried on and one of these trustees asked me to make some to be sold at the 2007 National Eisteddfod in Mold, Flintshire. It's something I enjoy doing."

Although the designs have changed with the times and demand, Rowena's cards are attractive, simple and colourful and feature three-dimensional shapes.

Please feel free to come over to our office to choose some of your own.
