Come and join us on our walks!

If you live with sight loss and would like to go for a walk in the company of other people - you are welcome to join our walking club.

Clwb cerdded Eryri walking club was established back in 2007 by the North Wales Society of the Blind in order to offer people living with sight loss the opportunity to go for a walk.

Below is a short video of one of the organisers of the walks, Mark Roberts, with his guide dog Forrest, extending an invitation to new members to join us.

There are a good number of us who go on the walks which are held on the third Wednesday of every month.

Many of the walkers are blind or partially blind.

Some have guide dogs or we have plenty of experienced guides who can offer to help anyone and be good company throughout the journey.

The element of socialising is an experience that is appreciated by everyone together with the fact that we get to tread new paths and that in the fresh air.

We stop for lunch on every trip and try to arrange for toilets to be available as well.

In addition, we organise transport to the start of each walk from our office in Bangor and can collect everyone at the end of each walk before returning to Bangor.

We are also always looking for new routes to take and welcome any suggestions for new or favourite walks.

Our walks are usually around 4 miles long.

We also have a special Facebook account for the group which is Clwb cerdded Eryri walking club with plenty of information abour recent walks.

If you would like to join us, please send a word or call our engagement officer Bethan Sage Williams on 01248 353604 or bethan@nwsb.org.uk
