Congratulations to Anest on qualifying as a Vision Rehabilitation Specialist
Congratulations to Anest Jeffery on qualifying as a Vision Rehabilitation Specialist, following a two-year course at Birmingham University.
Anest works for the North Wales Society of the Blind covering Ynys Môn and Gwynedd.
She is one of only 35 qualified professionals in Wales helping people living with sight loss remain as independent and safe as possible and to improve their quality of life.
This is done through training in the fields of mobility, communication, daily living skills and low vision as well as demonstrating and issuing equipment and making people aware of other support services both locally and nationally.
Anest joins the Society’s team of three other qualified officers and another trainee officer who is halfway through the course.
The Society, which recently celebrated 140 years, supports people across North Wales and has a rehabilitation service that assists around 900 people living with sight loss at their homes across Ynys Môn and Gwynedd.
Senior rehabilitation officer Dafydd Eckley said: “Anest has worked with us since 2021 and has become a very valuable member of a team of 12 employees based at our resource centre in Bangor.”
Anest said: “Thanks to everyone at the Society for all your invaluable support, I really appreciate it. I am very lucky to be able to work as part of a special team and we look forward to continuing to give help and support people living with sight loss in Ynys Môn and Gwynedd. It really is, in my opinion, a very important and valuable job.”
