ERYRI WALKING CLUB

TREBORTH TO FELINHELI - 16 AUGUST 2023

On Wednesday 16th August we have arranged a walk along part of the Wales Coastal Path from Treborth to Felinheli.

We can meet in the NWSB Resource Centre at 10:15 and walk up to the bus station to take the Arriva X4 bus for Llangefni which leaves stand C at 10:40, arriving at the Antelope at about 10:56.

We will start the walk from the mainland end of the Menai suspension bridge and walk half a mile along the Wales Coastal Path/road to Treborth Botanical gardens where we can have a toilet break.

After strolling around some of the beautiful routes through the gardens we will re-join the Coastal path and continue to a picnic site at the edge of the woods in the Glan Faenol National Trust Site for lunch.

The Coastal Path will then take us through the woods and along the banks of the Menai Straits to the Marina in Felinheli.  It is then only a short walk through the Marina before finishing our walk in front of the Garddfon Inn.

The whole walk is about 4.5 miles long, mostly on good gravel paths, with a few gentle gradients but with the current weather it will be muddy in places so boots or strong walking shoes are essential.

Don’t forget your waterproofs and of course a drink and packed lunch.

We should arrive at the Garddfon around 14:00 hours.

It is then a less than 10 minute climb up to the Victoria where buses leave every 20 minutes for the 22 minute journey back to Bangor or the 18 minute journey to Caernarfon.
For those of us wishing to have a half hour refreshment stop by the Graddfon we should be back in Bangor about 15:00 hours.

We might have to postpone the trip in the event of bad weather - If we need to make a decision to cancel, we will let you know by email and text by 8.am on the day of the walk. Responding to this email could you include a mobile number where we can send text messages please.

Please can you let Bethan know as soon as possible if you intend joining us.
