ERYRI WALKING CLUB LLYN CEFNI
LLYN CEFNI - 15th NOVEMBER 2023
On Wednesday 15th November we have arranged a walk from Llyn Cefni to Llangefni through the Dingle.
The walk will start in the Cefni Reservoir car park Rhosmeirch which is at the north east end of the reservoir on the B5111 about a mile and a half out of Llangefni.
The first part of the walk will be along the north side of the reservoir via a good woodland trail before crossing the disused railway line and having a lunch break at the reservoir picnic site by Bodffordd.
The walk will continue on the reservoir trail to the dam where we will join the Dingle trail which runs next to the river and the old railway line down to Llangefni. Our walk will finish in the Dingle car park by St. Cyngars Church in the town centre.
The whole walk is about 4 and a half miles long with generally a slight loss in gradient, so not too strenuous. The majority of the walk is along well surfaced trails with a stretch a long a wooden boardwalk. There are however a couple of bits of narrow muddy paths so strong waterproof shoes or boots are advised.
The NWSB are providing us with a coach which will leave the NWSB Bangor High Street offices at 10:30, pick up at the “Park & Ride” car park in Llanfair P.G. at 10:45 and the Llangefni, Dingle car park by St. Cyngar’s Church at 11:10, for those who wish to leave their cars in Llangefni, then on to the start of our walk at the Cefni Reservoir car park where we will start our walk at 11:30.
Those who are making their own way to Llangefni should meet us in the Dingle pay and display car park at 11:10. Any volunteers who incur the car park charge should retain their payment receipt to obtain reimbursement from the Society. There is no car park charge for blue badge holders.
We will complete our walk in Llangefni in time for the coach to pick us up at 14:45 hours for our return journey. We expect to get back in Bangor at around 15:30 hours.
Don’t forget your packed lunch, drinks and warm, waterproof clothing.
In the event of bad weather we may need to postpone the trip - If we need to make a decision to cancel, we will let you know by email and text by 8 am on the day of the walk. When responding to this email could you include a mobile number where we can send text messages please.
It is important that if you intend joining us then you let Bethan know as soon as possible so we can organise the appropriate coach.
