Eryri Walking Club - Llyn Elsi, Betws-y-Coed 17 July

Notice of change of route for next walk, Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Llyn Elsi, Betws-y-Coed

The coach will still have the same pick up times, starting 10:30am from Bangor and picking up 3:15pm at Rhaeadr Ewynnol (Swallow Falls), Betws-y-Coed for our return to Bangor.

Having given it serious consideration, we have decided it would be for the best to cancel our intended walk from Capel Curig to Ogwen Cottage next week.

With us having such a wet summer, the chances are that the trail could be quite wet and muddy, therefore, we have now rearranged our walk and we will be walking to Llyn Elsi which is in the Gwydyr Forest above Betws-y-Coed.

Our walk will start not far from Rhaeadr Ewynnol (Swallow Falls), we will be walking on forestry roads which are quite wide and on a decent surface (no mud).

On arriving at Llyn Elsi, we will break for lunch before we retrace our steps back to our starting point.

The whole walk will be around 4.5 miles.

Our coach will take us to Betws-y-Coed first where there are public toilets.

If it makes things easier for some of our group members who live down the coast or in the Blaenau Ffestiniog area, we can pick them up at the station in Betws-y-Coed if they wish to travel by train.
