Fresh air and friendship on a walk around Y Felinheli
20 walkers came on our first walk of the new year around Y Felinheli, Gwynedd.
This circular walk was a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy each other’s company and stretch the legs while taking in the fresh air and great views of Afon Menai.
Mark and Elaine Roberts were the leaders of the four mile, three-and-a-half-hour walk.
We gathered near the Garddfôn pub and restaurant before setting off.
The views were magnificent with the sun shining above Y Felinheli.
We walked up the hill out of the village and along Lôn Las - the walking and cycling path that connects the village with Caernarfon.
We had our lunch at Plas Menai sailing centre where picnic tables were available as well as refreshments and toilets.
We then headed back towards Felinheli walking up the path above Y Wern.
We then walked back to the starting point with everyone now looking forward to the next walk in February.
The walks are usually held on the third Wednesday of each month. We organise trips where there are toilets where we stop for lunch and at the end of the trip.
