Gold medal for Nick at the World Para-Archery Championships!
Nick, 47, from Talysarn in Dyffryn Nantlle, Gwynedd, is registered blind. He was representing Britain at the championships in South Korea.
Nick works as a development officer for the North Wales Society of the Blind in Bangor.
In a message, Nick’s wife, Marie, said: “I am so proud. All your hard work and dedication has paid off.”
He has won medals at British, European and World level.
The medal competition was held in the main square of Gwangju city.
Nick said before the competition: “I have to believe I'm good enough to win or I don't think there's any point in me going.
"You need confidence, maybe even a bit of arrogance. I'm going to do my best and hopefully my best on the day will be enough."
He added: "I enjoy the atmosphere — the music, the crowds, the cheering," he said.
"It relaxes me. When you're shooting everyone is quiet, but everything else around it adds to the occasion."
Para-archery involves each competitor working with a spotter, who relays information to the archer where their arrows land on the target using a clock system.
Normally, Nick's wife, Marie, acts as his spotter, but in South Korea, his brother-in-law Tom Hutton took on the role.
