GWRANDO at the library!

North Wales Society of the Blind and Gwynedd Libraries will be holding a number of special days to promote their audio books.

The Society records the voices of celebrities such as Wales’ First Minister Rhun ap Iorwerth, reading audio books for the blind and everyone who finds it difficult to read print.

Every year the Society produces 12 Welsh audio books for adults and 12 children's books.

Those are available from the libraries or to buy from the Society as part of its GWRANDO service.

The Society will also have an experienced officer available in the libraries during the special days to demonstrate and explain the range of support and innovative equipment available to people living with sight loss.

It is part of a number of valuable local services provided by the Society.

There will also be an opportunity to enjoy a live musical performance by Phill Jones, the talented singer songwriter from Caernarfon who uses his music to inspire others.

Everyone is warmly welcome - don't miss the opportunity to connect, learn and explore what's available for you or your community.

The first event will be at Porthmadog library, on Monday, July 6 between 10-1pm and the second at Caernarfon library, between 10-1pm on Monday, July 13, 2026.

It is intended to organise more similar events in the future.
