GWRANDO audio books promotions a huge success!
Recently two mornings were held by the North Wales Society of the Blind and Gwynedd Libraries to promote our audio books.
The first took place at Porthmadog Library on Monday, July 6, and the second at Caernarfon Library on Monday, July 13.
It was an opportunity for individuals to get information about the GWRANDO audio service.
Every year the Society produces 12 Welsh-language audio books for adults and 12 children’s books.
These recordings are available from libraries free of charge on CD, MP3, or to download, or they can be bought from the Society as part of its GWRANDO service.
A Visual Rehabilitation specialist was also present, demonstrating and explaining the range of innovative aids and equipment available for people living with sight loss.
During the morning there was also an opportunity to enjoy a live musical performance by Phill Jones, the talented singer‑songwriter from Caernarfon who lives with sight loss.
He is well known locally for using his music to share his story and inspire others.
He also performed his latest song during the event.
Both days were very successful, and more similar events are planned for the future.
