Hundreds expected at Sight Village exhibition in Llandudno!

Hundreds of people are expected to attend the Sight Village exhibition to be held in North Wales later this month.

The exhibition is organised by the Queen Alexandra College (QAC) charity in Birmingham, with the support of the North Wales Society of the Blind.

The event will take place at the Arena, Venue Cymru, Llandudno, between 9am and 4pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

There will be an opportunity for blind people and others living with sight loss to explore the latest equipment.

Among the 30 companies showcasing cutting-edge technology and devices are VisionAid, Optelec, and many others.

The devices will range from tools to assist with home cooking to special screens for magnifying text and specialist glasses.

There will also be an opportunity to try out Meta glasses, which can be used to read text and convert it into audio.

The devices have all been developed to enable people to continue living as independently as possible.

Workshops will run throughout the day, including Q&A sessions with world para-archery champion Nick Thomas, blind photographer Paul Jenkinson and actress Karina Jones, as well as various treatments provided by beauty therapy students from Coleg Llandrillo.

Visitors can enjoy high-quality local produce, handmade crafts, and unique gifts from Penderyn Distillery, Conwy Brewery, and talented craftspeople from North Wales.

Tickets are free, and guides can be booked by calling 0121 803 5313 or emailing sv@qac.ac.uk.
