North Wales Society of the Blind celebrates Volunteers Week
June 3-9 2024
The North Wales Society of the Blind will celebrate Volunteers Week between June 3-9 - next week with a special event.
The Society is organising a volunteer training session at the Quaker Centre, Dean Street, Bangor on Friday, June 7 from 10.30am-12noon.
We have a dedicated team of volunteers who help the Society in a variety of different roles.
Our volunteers are an important part of the Society's work and enable us to hold walks with Clwb Cerdded Eryri, for example.
Our volunteers also help us run regular social clubs such as the one held monthly in Colwyn Bay, for example.
At this event, our volunteers will be welcomed to join and meet members of the Society’s staff.
Anyone who would like to join us as volunteers are also particularly welcome.
At the event everyone who wants to receive training on how to guide another person with sight loss on a walk, for example, will be able to learn from our experienced trainers.
In the same way existing guides will also be able to benefit from the day by receiving training to update their skills.
Join us to celebrate 40 years of Volunteers' Week and to inspire more people to make a difference. Refreshments – tea and coffee – will be available.
You must register before the day by emailing Bethan Sage Williams, North Wales Society for the Blind on bethan@nwsb.org.uk or calling 01248 353 604.
Event address: Quakers Centre, Dean Street, Bangor, Gwynedd LL57 1UR
