Notice for Llyn Y Gader Circular Walk from Rhyd-Ddu, Wednesday, October 15, 2025

This is a slightly more challenging walk to what we've done in recent months where for the first part we will ascend the Rhyd-Ddu path up towards Yr Wyddfa.

Having reached the point where we will start our descent is, we will stop for our lunch break.

After lunch we will descend back towards the main road which we will cross as well as crossing the Welsh Highland Railway line.

We will make our way on to the Lôn Gwyrfai path that will take us around the picturesque Llyn Y Gader and back to the car park where we started the walk.

The walk will start at the Rhyd-Ddu station car park (LL54 6TH) where there are toilets.

The route is 6.5km (4 miles) on mainly a sound surface.

Suitable footwear is advised as well as some warm clothing as we will climb to a height of 300m (1,000ft).

Also don't forget to bring your lunch and maybe a hot drink.

The N.W.S.B. have arranged transport to leave our office at 10:30 picking up at Morrison bus stop Caernarfon at 10:50 and arriving to start the walk at 11:30.

We will leave for our return journey to Bangor at around 2:30; dropping off at Morrison on the way back.

We would appreciate if you could let Bethan Sage Williams (N.W.S.B.) know if you intend to join us by no later than this Friday, October 10, so we can arrange the necessary transport.

Very much looking forward to your company again this month, Mark.
