Notice for our next walk: Cemlyn Nature Reserve, Ynys Môn, May 20, 2026
For our walk this month we have arranged a circular walk from the Cemlyn Nature Reserve on the north coast of Ynys Môn.
Cemlyn Nature Reserve holds one of the largest tern colonies in the UK and we will be joined on our walk by Ben Stammers from The Wild Life Trust.
Ben will tell us all about the bird population and the Trust’s work before leading us on a walk along part of the Anglesey Coastal Path.
Our walk is just over 4 miles long and we will start and finish our walk in the Trust car park.
Our route will mostly follow the grass path on the low cliff top above the seashore before returning along quiet tarmac unclassified lanes.
The grass could be a little bit slippery following rain so strong walking shoes or boots are essential and waterproof clothing is also advised.
We will all congregate at the car park at around 11:15am and start our walk at 11:30am. We will stop for our lunch break en route.
There are toilets in Plas Cemlyn (Warden's Office) which we can use at the beginning and end of the walk.
We should be back in the car park for the bus to pick us up at 14:45pm for our return journey, getting us back in Bangor around 15:45pm.
The NWSB will be providing a coach to leave Bangor at 10:15am with a pick up in the Park & Ride, Llanfairpwll at 10:30am.
Can you please let Bethan Sage Williams, NWSB know you intend joining us by no later than Wednesday, May 13 so that we can arrange the necessary transport and whether you will be coming on the coach or finding your own way.
The Car Park Post Code: LL67 0EA
Note: One of our members, Walter Richards, has kindly arranged an evening of entertainment at the Caernarfon Town Football Club on Friday, June 27 to start at 7pm.
Tickets are £3 each and can be bought on the walk or from the NWSB. with all proceeds going towards the cost of running our walking club.
Hopefully, many of you will come to support the evening.
