Notice of our next walk to Newborough Forest - Wednesday, April 23 2025

Please note: Our walk this month will take place on the 4th Wednesday of the month and not our usual 3rd Wednesday.

For our walk this month we will be returning to Ynys Môn where we will be walking through Newborough Forest making our way down to the beautiful sandy beach of Llanddwyn.

From our meeting point at the car park we will follow the forestry track down to the beach - a distance of just over 2 miles on a sound surface. It's on the beach that we will break for lunch.

After lunch we will retrace our steps making our way onto the Cob that links Niwbwrch (Newborough) and Malltraeth, finishing the walk at the Joiners Arms where drinks can be bought as well as having the use of toilets.

This month's walk is slightly longer than normal, the whole route is approximately 5.5 miles. Suitable footwear and clothing advised and don't forget to bring a packed lunch with you.

Cymdeithas Deillion Gogledd Cymru - North Wales Society of The Blind will put on a coach for our travel to Niwbwrch which will leave the Society at 10:30 with our return journey setting off from Malltraeth at 15:30 arriving back in Bangor at around 16:00.

We would appreciate if you could let Bethan Williams at Cymdeithas Deillion Gogledd Cymru - North Wales Society of The Blind know if you intend joining us on the walk by no later than Thursday, April 17 so that we can arrange the necessary transport
If you intend to make your own way to the starting point, the car park is situated on the right side of the road as you make your way from Niwbwrch to Malltraeth (LL61 6SU).

We will be passing the car park on our way on to the Cob. You can finish the walk here if you wish or join us at the Joiners Arms which is approximately a mile from the car park.

Looking forward to your company.
