Ty'n-y-Maes - Tregarth

Our walk this month will be Ty'n-y-Maes to Tregarth, a walk we had planned for February but was cancelled owing to inclement weather, but in reverse to what we would have done that day.

We we will leave Bangor at 10:45, travel to our starting point in Ty'n-y-Maes which is 2 miles up the A5 from Bethesda in the direction of Llyn Ogwen.  We will start the walk at around 11:15 making our way onto the old Nant Ffrancon road before we join Lon Las Ogwen (cycle path).  Within the hour, we should arrive in Zipworld where we will have our lunch break, there is a cafe and toilets here for those who need.

After lunch, we will commence our walk on Lon Las Ogwen in the direction of Tregarth arriving at the old train station in time for our lift back to Bangor.

The walk is around 5 miles on mainly a flat surface apart from a couple of very short steep bits which we will be descending on the way

Our transport (Dilwyn Coaches) will leave the N.W.S.B at 10:45 with a pick-up in Tregarth at 15:00, we will be back in Bangor no later than 15:20.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

We will postpone the trip in the event of bad weather - If we need to make a decision to cancel, we will let you know by email and text by 6.pm on the evening before the walk. Responding to this email could you include a mobile number where we can send text messages please.

It is important that if you intend joining us then you let Bethan know as soon as possible so we can organise the appropriate coach.

1.     Will you be joining us on the walk?

2.     Is there anyone coming with you?

3.     Do you need a sighted guide volunteer?

4.     Mobile phone number.

5.     Where will you be meeting the group?

We are now planning a programme for 2024 so if you have any ideas about new routes or perhaps a personal favourite walk then please let us know.  We are more than happy to join a couple of volunteers to explore any possible route suggestions.
