Notice of our walk to Trawsfynydd, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025
Our walk this month will take us to the Trawsfynydd area.
We will be met by David P Jones (Uwch Warden y De/Senior South Warden) for Eryri National Park Authority.
He will lead us on a leisurely circular walk approximately 4 miles in length to Llyn Trawsfynydd Main Dam through Coed Caersaeson and back to the visitor car park.
A small section of the path in Coed Caersaeson can be uneven but should be fine if we take care.
The start and finish will be at Llyn Trawsfynydd Visitors Car Park.
David has discussed with Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) and they will open the Visitors Centre for us to use the facilities and toilets.
As the walk is to commence at 11:30am in the visitors’ car park, we will have to leave Bangor at a slightly earlier time than normal.
Dilwyn's Coaches will depart the Society’s centre in Bangor at 10:00am, picking up walkers at Morrisons bus stop, Caernarfon at 10:20am.
We will depart for our return journey from Trawsfynydd at around 14:45pm, arriving back in Bangor at approximately 16:00pm.
Suitable clothing and footwear are advised and don't forget your packed lunch.
We would appreciate if you could let Bethan Williams (N.W.S.B.) know if you intend to join us by no later than Friday, May 16, so we can arrange the necessary transport.
We are very much looking forward to your company again this month.
