Opportunity for people living with sight loss to drive car on a race track

If you live with sight loss but would love to drive a car on a race track, here is your opportunity.

Speed of Sight, a registered charity, are holding an event on Tuesday, October 15th at Trac Môn, Ty Croes, Ynys Môn.

Cymdeithas Deillion Gogledd Cymru North Wales Society of the Blind have previously held similar events with Speed of Sight at Trac Môn.

The charity is offering this fantastic driving experience for a total registration fee of £59 per person, rather than the full fee of £159.

Participants are required to wear a single use balaclava and a helmet with a comms unit in to aid communication and safety.

If necessary, they have a hoist to aid getting in and out of the cars which needs to be operated by a personal carer or support worker.

The running order is not exact on a track day.

The needs of our guests can be so varied, we often don’t know what to expect until the day.

We assign people an hourly slot, with 3 drivers per hour.

Each will have their 20 minutes out in the car at some point during that hour.

We find any longer can be tiring and detract from the excitement of the experience. Available time slots can be 10am, 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm.

To make a booking please visit their online booking system at: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing/54119?

Or they can take card payment over the phone on 0161 714 4567

Spectators and pit crew are welcome to come along for no extra cost, the more the merrier!!

Once the registration fee has been paid, Speed of Sight will be in touch closer to the day with more details.

In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any member of the team if you’d like more information.

We look forward to meeting you and anyone else who would like to come along! #SpeedofSight
