Phill sings ‘Diolch i Chdi’ on Heno, S4C
A young musician has just released his first single inspired about his experiences of living with a sight loss. Phill Jones, 22, from Caernarfon said his song 'Diolch i Chdi' talks about his experience of "being in a dark and lonely place when he was young."
On Monday night, February 2, Phill appeared on S4C's Heno programme when he was interviewed by presenters Owain Tudur Jones and Elin Fflur. Phill also sang his song live on the programme. Phill, who works for a law firm, said the song’s message is saying "Diolch" to all his friends and family for their support and to remind people that there is light at the end of dark periods in life.
Phill was inspired by the singer Elidyr Glyn and popular band Bwncath to start composing original songs. He said: “Writing songs is a way for me to be able to show emotion and my feelings. "Also, I hope to inspire other people who are living with sight loss to make their dreams come true and go for it in life - and not let the sight loss hold them back."
Here's a video of Phill being interviewed and singing 'Diolch i Chdi' with a few photos also from his time at the Heno/Tinopolis studio in Llanelli.
