Phill’s charity gig is a great success

A charity gig with singer Phill Jones to raise money for the North Wales Society of the Blind was a great success.

Despite the rainy and stormy weather on Friday night (14.11.25), the Jac Y Do bar in Caernarfon was full of supporters to listen to Phill and his band with singers Gwenno Fôn and Elidyr Glyn joining as special guests.

The evening was filmed by the Tinopolis TV and a special programme about Phill's life will be broadcast over Christmas on S4C.

Phill, 22, from Caernarfon, was born with a sight loss.

From the beginning, Phill was helped by the North Wales Society of the Blind in Bangor.

He went about organising this special gig in order to thank the Society.

Phill said: "I couldn't have asked for a better night."

Because of his visual impairment, Phill said that although everything in his life "isn't easy" - "it doesn't stop me either."

Phill works as a receptionist for Pritchard Jones and Lane solicitors in Caernarfon.

He also regularly gigs in local pubs.

Although entry to the gig was free, £496.80 was raised for the Society on the night through donations and a very successful raffle.

Phill would like to thank everyone for their support including friends and family; local businesses and individuals Jac y Do, Bwncath, Blêds, Tân, Palas Print, Gemwaith, Lisa Eurgain Taylor, Sioned Glyn, Na-Nog and Swig Smwddis for donating prizes to the raffle.

North Wales Society of the Blind chief executive Steven Thomas said that the Society was very grateful to Phill and his family for organising the evening and to everyone for donating so generously.
