Society’s charity night a great success!
A charity night held at the Caernarfon Football Club Supporters' Club in aid of the North Wales Society of the Blind was a great success.
The Local Talent Show was held last Friday night (26.6.26).
It was organised by Walter Richards and his band of 12 acts.
Walter had thought his "life was over" when he was initially registered blind.
But now he wanted to "give something back" to thank the Society for the support he has received especially after joining its Clwb Cerdded Eryri walks.
An audience of 150 enjoyed listening to over a dozen local talents singing during the evening.
Among the acts were Y Tri Cofi, infamous since their Britain's Got Talent appearance, with their unique singing and dancing - and Gwyn Williams, who like Walter, enjoys joining the Society’s monthly walks.
A raffle and bingo were held with Yvonne Hughes as MC and Bryan from Dragonz Disco in charge of the music.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who bought tickets, and the raffle, a total of £1,100 was raised for the Society.
The Society's walks are very popular. 32 members joined our latest walk to Dolwyddelan!
Walking in the fresh air is good for the body and mind and everyone enjoys meeting and chatting with the Society’s volunteers who are all experienced guides.
Everyone looks forward to the walks.
Anyone living with a sight loss is welcome to join us.
If you would like to volunteer as a guide on our walks or to contribute to the Society in any way, please call Bethan Sage Williams on 01248 353604 or admin@nwsb.org.uk
