Song about a 'dark place' to inspire others living with visual impairment

A young visually-impaired musician has just released his first single on his experiences of living with sight loss.

Phill Jones, 22, from Caernarfon said the song 'Diolch i Chdi' talks about his experience of "being in a dark and lonely place” when he was young.

Phill, who works for a law firm, says that the song’s message is to say "Thank you" to all his friends and family for their support and to affirm that there is light at the end of a dark period in life.

Phill was inspired by singer Elidyr Glyn and the popular Bwncath band to start composing original songs.

Phill said: “Writing songs is a way for me to be able to show my emotion and my feelings.

"Also, I hope to inspire other people who are visually impaired to make their dreams come true and go for it in life – and not let the visual impairment hold them back."

'Diolch i Chdi' was recorded at Stiwdio Sain, Llandwrog, Caernarfon with producer Robin Llwyd Jones.
