The Two Bridges Walk – Wednesday, September 16, 2026
We will visit both the Pont Menai (Menai Suspension Bridge) and Pont Britannia on this month’s walk.
An easy walk of around 4 miles, the walk will start on the Bangor side of Pont Menai where we will make our way along part of the coastal path to Pont Britannia.
We will then retrace our steps back to Pont Menai, where upon we will cross over to Ynys Môn.
We will continue our walk on to Ynys Tysilio (Church Island).
The old church is believed to have been built in 1400. We will then proceed along Rhodfa’r Belgiaid (Belgian Promenade) where we intend to have lunch at approximately 12:30.
There are benches on the Belgian Promenade where we can sit to eat.
After a short break, we shall continue along the promenade and do a circuit of the town of Porthaethwy (Menai Bridge), making our way back to the bridge to cross back on to the mainland back to our starting point.
Here's some information on what you need to know before the walk:
- We will meet at Treborth side of Pont Menai
- The walk will take approximately 3 hours starting at 11am
You will need: Appropriate clothing including walking boots, waterproofs and packed lunch.
As usual a coach has been provided by the N.W.S.B. to leave our Bangor offices at 10:30am and returning at approximately 14:45pm.
If travelling by car, there is ample parking between Pont Menai and the Gardd Fotaneg Treborth Botanic Garden.
Would you be as kind as to notify Bethan Sage Williams (N.W.S.B.) no later than Friday, September 11 if you intend to join us.
Looking forward to your company again this month.
