Video to introduce the Ray-ban Meta glasses
The North Wales Society of the Blind has produced a new video to introduce the Ray-ban Meta glasses.
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in the glasses has significant benefit to people living with sight loss.
In this video North Wales Society of the Blind development officer Nick Thomas demonstrates how the glasses work.
The glasses come in a box with a charging case, cleaning cloth and some literature including a quick-start guide.
Nick said the glasses work by using a camera in the left corner of the frame.
When awoken by the wake words: “Hey Meta”, the glasses link to the Meta eye app to carry out your request.
The Meta app will have to be downloaded to a smartphone or tablet device.
Nick said: “Hopefully, this video shows how useful the Meta glasses can be for people with sight loss and the benefits that come along with them.
“I have demonstrated the Look and See function but these glasses have other features that might be of use to people living with sight loss.
“They can be connected to a smart phone and relay phone call information and messages through WhatsApp and Facebook as well.
“You can also make and receive phone calls on the glasses themselves by using your voice.
“There are a lot more things the glasses can do.”
