Wonderfully-warm welcome at Porthmadog club!
Mair Millar, who organises the Porthmadog Blind Club, kindly invited Bethan and Wendy from the Society to give a talk about the services available and the different ways we can support members.
Jason from VisionAid was also there, demonstrating a range of equipment.
VisionAid provide specialist equipment and technology to support people living with sight loss.
They offer equipment like electronic magnifiers, lighting solutions, reading machines, and wearable devices.
People were able to try equipment for themselves, and one client said she was amazed by how much there is available for people living with sight loss.
She told us, “These magnifiers would make such a difference — I wouldn’t have to ask my husband to read my post anymore.”
The club gave us a wonderfully warm welcome, with beautiful sandwiches and cakes.
The sun was shining, everyone was happy to see us, and we’re already looking forward to going back again soon.
