Our appeal for volunteers on S4C’s Prynhawn Da programme
Here is a video of an item about the North Wales Society of the Blind which was on S4C's Prynhawn Da programme.
The programme’s presenter, Caryl Bryn, asked our communications officer, Hywel Trewyn, about the Society’s work and also about our appeal for volunteers to join us as trustees on our management board.
A commitment of up to six hours per month is required.
The purpose of the board is to provide guidance for us as staff and users of our services.
We're looking for people who come from different backgrounds including people who are experience in business and governance.
The Society is a Welsh and bilingual charity operating across North Wales, providing services to over 2,000 people who are blind or living with sight loss.
Among the services offered by the Society are:
- Recording audiobooks and newspapers
- Hosting a number of groups and activities
- Resources centre
- Service of rehabilitation officers
The Society was founded in 1882 by the Bishop of Bangor.
Our resources centre is at 325, High Street, Bangor.
